He was born on July 27, 1960 in Vijayanagaram, Andhra Pradesh. His original name was Pudipeddi Saikumara Sarma.
His father P.J.Sharma was a leading dubbing artist and actor. Sai Kumar also followed him starting as a child dubbing artist. He has very exceptional command on Telugu language, he has marvellous calibre in Dialogue delivery and clarity in Telugu diction. He dubbed for leading Telugu actors like Suman (top Telugu hero in 1990’s) and Rajashekar. Later he himself became an actor and played lead roles in many movies. Presently he was acting in important supporting characters.
He was married to Surekha kumar and couple have a son and a daughter. His son Aadi is presently a budding film hero in Tollywood. His brother is also a famous actor and dubbing artist, he is prominent in Kannada industry.
He acted in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. In adolescence he started his career through Chiranjeevi’s ‘Challenge’ movie. In initial days he got tremendous fame through Police characters. Later on he started acting as a Villain. He got many awards which include Nandi awards for best supporting character and also South film fare awards for supporting artist.
