A Haryana-born theater and film actor, Amit Kumar Vashisth is noted for his work in South Indian film industry and Bollywood cinema. After completing his education in B.E., Amit Kumar did several jobs before eventually getting enrolling himself at the prestigious institute FTII, Pune to pursue a course in acting.

Amit started his acting career as a theater artist and has performed across several major theaters in India including Prithvi Theater in Mumbai, Kala Niketan in Kolkata, and Kamani Auditorium in New Delhi. Following his brief stint in theater, Amit traveled across the length and breadth of India with the musical show called YAHOO - The Karishma of Shammi Kapoor, a musical show based on the life the yesteryear legendary actor Shammi Kapoor. He not only enacted the later actor but also hosted the show. He made his debut on the silver screen with Ithu Thaanda Police (2016) and later appeared in a Malayalam film Driver on Duty (2016). His 2017 release includes The Window, a drama mystery film directed by VK Choudhary. He is associated with the 2018 Hindi history-thriller Raazi directed by Meghna Gulzar.
