Terrible! Not the novel, but the situation the characters find themselves in. The novel is, as one of its lines says, "wonderful is not right; better would be exemplary." It cuts deep! It unsettled. I pity the misery and foolishness of the characters. Frankly speaking, when I started reading it, it felt hyped, but after a few chapters, it sucked me in completely. This is one of the most bluntly honest novels I have come across to this date. The cleverly articulated prose and the cruel honesty with which things and emotions are rationalized are just brilliant! The cold and harsh humor shines in many places as well. Indeed, an excellent piece of writing.
