Reshma (Sridevi) lives with her father Sardar Malik (Sudhir Pandey) who is leader of a nomadic tribe. On every new moon night, Reshma has same nightmare in which she is chased by some goons and ends up dead in the end. The tribe lands in the area owned by Rana Udaybhan Singh Sesodia (Kulbhushan Kharbanda). Kumar Singh Sesodia (Rishi Kapoor) son of Udaybhan Singh and Reshma feel an unknown attraction towards each other. Despite acknowledging that Reshma's nasty night meres stopped due to arrival of Kumar Singh, her father is angry as she was bethronged to Shakti Singh (Gulshan Grover). On the other side, Udaybhan Singh is not very keen about his only son pursuing a nomad girl. Reshma and Kumar run away and take refuge in an old Haweli. Soon their fathers arrive with goons of each but the fight is stopped by the old caretaker of the Haweli Thakur Baba (Pran).
